Did you know there's such a thing as a FiFi Award?

What's a FiFi?

Often referred to as, "The Oscars of the fragrance industry," the annual FiFi Awards are the most prestigious fragrance awards in the world.  Since 1973, the awards have sought to honor those companies who have made important creative achievements in the fragrance industry.

Who decides who wins a FiFi?

The awards are sponsored by the Fragrance Foundation, a non-profit organization that acts as the international hub of historical, scientific, and cultural fragrance subjects.  They have an online database with a comprehensive collection of materials about fragrances as well as the complete "Fragrance Directory."  The actual awards are voted upon by both industry insiders and consumers!  Rochelle Bloom, the President of the Fragrance Foundation says of the FiFi awards:

"Perfume is an art form...The awards showcase this creativity and because it is such a high-profile event, we are always honored to welcome the fragrance industry's movers and shakers as well as celebrities and headliners from TV and fashion."

One special 2009 winner has already been announced. According to Now Smell This, Paris Hilton was named "Celebrity of the Year," by the FiFi awards.  This is the first year that this specific award has been given out.  Paris Hilton currently has eight different fragrances: Paris Hilton for Women, Paris Hilton for Men, Heiress for Women, Heir for Men, Just Me for Women, Just Me for Men, Can Can, and Fairy Dust Now that's hot!
